Cada otoño invierno existen unas cuantas tendencias que se repiten, son clásicos propios de la temporada, las grandes firmas toman inspiración en ellos, los fashionistas desempolvamos y las tiendas fast Fashion crean “nuevas”colecciones. El animal print, la estética militar y los colores fríos son tan solo algunas de estas pero ¿Cómo usarlas sin parecer un TBT?
Nosotros llegamos a la misma conclusión: el truco está en manejar bien las combinaciones, evitando caer en lo que se espera y es que existen combinaciones que pareciesen estar configuradas en nuestra mente y ahí es donde nos aburrimos de la ropa.
En esta ocasión decidimos hacer el experimento con un color que hemos usado ya varias veces y que al elegirlo nuestro equipo dijo ¿De nuevo? Por supuesto hablamos del verde oliva, military green, verde militar o como lo quieras llamar, optamos por hacer una mezcla de este color tan opaco con uno un poco más femenino y suave: ROSA Pastel o Rosado vintage (me encanta, ustedes saben que estoy obsesionada con el rosado) y les confieso que el resultado me encanto, veamos:
Rox: En mi caso agregué el toque rosa en los zapatos, military green en la falda línea A y en mi shoulder bag pero sin duda la gran protagonista aquí fue mi camisa blanca con bow negro al descuido que nos remonta a esa estética que salió de las oficinas y hoy en día se ha apoderado de las calles y las pasarelas, esta pieza representa parte del empoderamiento femenino sobre sus derechos igualitarios. La puedes usar en actividades formales pero también fuera de la oficina con un skinny jeans, stilettos metalizados y un moño al descuido lograras un look súper chic.
Winston: Blazer en verde oliva en una tonalidad clara, camisa rosada y pañuelo en Lunaresque armonizan con los tonos tierras del resto del outfit. Aquí entremezclo dos elementos clásicos: verde militar con tonos terracotas y Rosa pastel con azul marino, al unificar estos clásicos creamos un look moderno. ¡Los detalles son la clave!
Tres formas de usar tendencias que se repiten:
1 - Lee, mira e investiga cómo se usaban y como las están llevando ahora, haz una selección de lo que mejor vaya contigo agrega tu toque personal y listo. Nunca, nunca recrees looks exactos, nadie es igual a nadie y es nuestra labor demostrarlo.
2 - Que si Navidad es roja y primavera Flores, si cierto pero no te vayas a lo literal hay miles estampados florales y tonalidades de rojo ni te cuento, no optes por el común denominador, mira un poco más allá.
3 - Si eres un caballero y no eres tan dado a los estampados puedes añadirlo en detalles como las medias, el pañuelo, corbatín. ¡No te limites!

Every fall/winter season there are a few fashion trends that repeat themselves, these particular styles are classics of the season. Large fashion firms such as H&M and Zara usually incorporate them in their “new” collections; trend influencers (GlamDapper) get inspired and create looks based on them. These classics are: animal print, military aesthetics and cool colors. Now the trick is how to use them without looking like a “TBT” picture on Instagram.
As the discussion about this topic continued, Winston and I came to the same conclusion: the trick is to manage well the combinations, avoid what is expected and the most important thing is not to follow a pre-configured look you had in mind because that’s when fashion gets boring, instead be spontaneous and create a fresh look that will make you feel and look great.
In this occasion we decided to experiment with a trend/color that we have used several times. Military aesthetics (was feature in the “Hourglass” post a week ago) evokes a masculine notion. Furthermore, we also used a cool color as a shade of pastel pink, which implies beauty. These two elements represent a male/female unity or to be in accordance with modern times male/male or female/female. No matter the preference it shouldn’t dictate your fashion taste or attitude towards a trend or color.
Rosanna chose to wear pastel pink for the shoes, military green for the skirt and shoulder bag. However, the main subtle attraction of this look would be the white shirt and skinny black scarf that carelessly takes us back to the aesthetic that emerged from offices of workingwoman after the Second World War, this trend is now taking over the streets and fashion runways. Equally important, is that this particular trend/piece is part of Women’s empowerment on their equal rights. It’s suggested that is used for formal events, office jobs and others casual activities that require slim jeans, stilettos and a bun to achieved a super chic look.
Winston wore an olive green blazer inspired by military aesthetics, a pink dress shirt, which represents a sense of care, compassion, and love. A silk texture pocket square helped harmonized the earth tones of the total look. Here, the mix of two classic elements: military green and pastels unified well and created a modern dapper look. Three ways to use recurrent trends:
1 - Read, watch and investigate how they were used and how far they are carrying at the present moment, then after make a selection of what would better suit you and be ready to add your personal touch. Never re-create exact looks because no one is equal to anyone and it’s our job to prove it.
2 - If red is for Christmas and perhaps flowers for spring - yes perhaps, but it’s suggested that you don’t follow the common notion; there are literally thousands of prints and many shades of red. Long story short, don’t opt or the common denominator instead look a little further for something different.
3 - For the Gentlemen – If you aren’t keen of using prints on garments, try to include them in your socks, pocket squares or neckties.
